AI at politika

politika uses artificial intelligence (AI) openly. This page explains what for, by which rules, and where people decide.

What the AI does

An AI model checks every public contribution before it appears. It publishes clearly acceptable ones, rejects clearly unacceptable ones, and a person decides every unclear case. It re-checks reported contributions. It only assesses politicians’ posts; only a person can remove them. Every contribution shows whether the AI or a person reviewed it.

What gets removed

We moderate as little as possible. Only content that clearly falls into one of these categories is removed:

Hate speech
Incitement to hatred or discrimination because of origin, religion, sexual orientation or similar (cf. Art. 261bis Swiss Criminal Code).
Threat or call to violence
Threats or calls for violence against anyone.
Severe personal insult
A severe insult or defamation of a specific person (cf. Art. 173–177 Swiss Criminal Code). Harsh criticism of positions, parties or authorities is allowed.
Someone’s private data
Private details about private individuals, such as an address or phone number.
Advertising or spam
Advertising, scams or meaningless text.
Other unlawful content
Other clearly unlawful content, such as calls to commit crimes.

What the AI does not do

It does not judge opinions and does not fact-check: pointed, uncomfortable or wrong statements stay up. It sees only the text and the debate topic, never your account, your name or your poll answers. It builds no profiles.

Where people decide

If the AI is unsure, the contribution waits for a person. If the AI rejects your contribution, you can ask a person to review it on your account page. A contribution reported several times is hidden until a person has reviewed it.

AI summaries of the proposals

The explanations of the proposals are written by an AI model (Claude by Anthropic), from official sources only: Swissvotes, the Federal Council's voting booklet and Parliament's documents. A second AI checks each explanation independently for correct facts, balance and plain language. Only what passes that check is published, labelled as an AI summary; everything else waits for a person. Results and party positions always come straight from the official data, never from the AI.

Visitor statistics

We count page views with Vercel Web Analytics: no cookies, no profile of individual people, only aggregate numbers (page, country, device type). The statistics have no link to accounts, polls or voting intentions.

Model in use

No AI moderation is active right now; people review every contribution.
